Prayer of sighs

Listen to my silent lamentation

When life bends me down

Like the back of a lute

That no longer can play

The hymns of hope

Hear my empty prayers

When my vertebrae wave

Like the beads of a rosary

Remind me in vain

Of words I cannot utter

Let my mute battle-cry sound

When I fold my hands

Like braided fists

Ready to fight

For what I never can imagine

                               ~
